Limited (MDI) is a registered financial institution in Uganda and is adherent
to the Central Bank’s regulations and guidelines and was founded in 1994 to
provide quality microfinance services.
Job Summary:  The Data Analyst will enable the UGAFODE
Microfinance Limited (MDI) to effectively leverage on data as an enterprise
asset to support its strategic decision-making and actions. The person will
make recommendations about the methods and ways in which institution obtains
and analyses data to improve quality and the efficiency of data systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Tasked with gathering data from various sources e.g. the core
    banking system, accounting system, mobile banking system and any other
    systems run and operated by the institution
  • Analyzing results and ability to interpret the analyzed results,
    understand the patterns and trends, turn it into information which can
    offer ways to improve business operations, thus affecting business
    decisions.
  • Design and develop comprehensive Data Analysis Reports that will
    guide SMT in decision making.
  • Working alongside teams within the business or management to
    establish business needs using the available various data sources
  • Defining new data collection subjects continuously and develop
    processes for data handling.
  • Maintain a database of scripts, data extracted, data analysed and
    reports for record purpose

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the UGAFODE Data Analyst must hold a Degree
    in a numerical field like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer
    Science. 
  • Advanced statistical analysis e.g. SPSS
  • ACL Data Analysis & script writing
  • Advanced Excel, using Pivot Tables
  • Previous experience in data models and reporting packages
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms will be an added advantage
  • Ability to analyze large datasets
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microfinance, Banking and  Finance
