Job Summary:   The Audit Assistant’s primary role will be
the review of regulatory returns as required by the Financial Institutions Act
and Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Vision through;
  • Assisting Barclays in becoming the Go To Bank, by facilitating the
    improvement of the Governance and Control Environment. We:
  • Attracting and retaining the most talented and diverse internal
    audit team (Colleagues).
  • Target excellence in our performance and continuously review our
    innovative yet simple audit processes to maximise BIA efficiencies
    (Company).
  • Using our integrity and judgement, we audit the right things in the
    right way at the right time (Conduct).
  • Partnering with clients to maximise the effectiveness of the
    Governance and Control Environment (Customer and Client).
  • Positively contribute to the Barclays Group Citizenship Plan
    (Citizenship).
  • BIA Overview:  BIA aims to
    provide independent, reliable, valued, insightful and timely assurance to
    the Board and Executive Management over the effectiveness of governance,
    risk management and control over current and evolving risks, in the
    context of the current and expected business environment.

Customer/Client
  • Build strong relationships and mutual trust with all colleagues
    internal (AVPs/CIAs/VPs/Directors/Managing Directors) and external
    (Regulators).
  • Understand the needs of client/customer and make decisions using
    this knowledge.
  • Discuss and agree the factual accuracy of review observations with
    AVP/VP, as appropriate.

  • Support citizenship agenda across BIA to contribute positively to
    the communities we operate in.
  • Apply citizenship lens when making business critical decisions.

  • Pursue self-development to increase personal effectiveness,
    acknowledging strengths and areas for development.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Barclays Bank Audit Assistant must hold a good track record of
    high performance in previous roles.
  • Desire to develop and progress career aspirations.
  • Experience of working at different levels in an organisation.
  • Experience of flexing and adapting style to meet the needs of
    others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Preferred experience: Financial services industry knowledge.
