Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous
not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the
Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a
Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres
of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa,
Eastern Europe and North America.
preparing and analysing financial reports, statistical analyses, annual budgets
and financial projections for strategic initiatives
- Maintains general ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue
distribution, depreciation, cost, property, operating expenses &
insurance records - Maintains cash flow, reviews banking activity and reconciling
monthly report - Ensures quality standards of financial PHO COEs activities
monitoring, monitor PHO budget in host country to achieve financial goals - Reviews monthly entries prepared by financial services for accuracy
by established closing deadlines - Ensures quality standards of financial PHO COEs reporting
- Maintains the infrastructure of the financial reporting for a Global
HOPE operating units and provides financial reporting to TXCH Global HOPE
leadership, key stakeholders/donors. - Assists in coordinating audit related activity.
- Works with Senior Financial Analyst in Houston to project activity,
monitoring funding received from TCH, and expenses - Support development and implementation of financial SOPs
- Promotes continual process improvements by revising/improving SOPs
- Provides training of PHO COE staff on financial SOPS
- Ensures compliance with financial SOPs and quality financial
reporting across PHO COEs - Ensure implementation of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll,
purchasing, inventory management, property management, and other related
procedures and controls for Global HOPE programs - Provide support in the analysis and interpretation of Global HOPE
financial data
- The Financial Analyst/Officer must hold a Bachelor’s degree with a
major in Finance, Accounting, Business or Healthcare field. - A minimum of five years of financial/accounting experience. A master’s
degree may substitute for two years of the required experience - Ability to use Microsoft applications such as Excel & PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Budgeting processes & principles.
