business is operating and maintaining Nalubaale and Kiira hydroelectric Power
Stations. Their mission is to be the “Centre of Excellence in Power Concession
Management.”
Job Summary:   The Engineering Manager will support Eskom
Uganda Limited ( EUL ) in achieving its vision of providing reliable
electricity by providing strategic direction and leadership to all engineering
sections to make certain that the required engineering services are available
and adequate to ensure that EUL achieves its objective of excellent asset care
and be accountable for plant health and project delivery performance
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership support to the
    Engineering sections in order to effectively manage plant assets to
    achieve EUL’s technical objectives
  • Provide regular updates on departmental KPI’s, progress, and
    challenges
  • Manage the performance of direct reports by implementing effective
    talent and people Management strategies
  • Oversee and manage the finances and budget under the engineering
    sections

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical,
    Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
  • A Masters or Doctorate qualification in Engineering, Business
    Administration, Business Management or other related fields is an added
    advantage.
  • Compulsory Professional registration reputable body: Registered as a
    Professional Engineer.
  • Seven years of practical and related work experience in related
    industry
  • Of which 3 years of experience are in management position.
