Job Summary:  The Shelter Officer will manage and supervise
the Shelter component of Cordaid’s Humanitarian Program in West Nile, Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Manage
the construction of Shelters in refugee settlements, particularly Refugees with
Special Needs.
·        
Identify
and train refugees to participate in the construction work
·        
Ensure
quality is of highest standard while following the set guidelines from
UNHRC/OPM
·        
Apply
strictly the agreed designs by the cluster lead
·        
Ensure
close monitoring and the supervision of the construction work
·        
Participate
in field assessments
·        
Follow
the internal reporting rules
·        
Perform any
other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·        
The ideal
candidate for the Cordaid Shelter Officer must hold a Higher diploma in Civil
Engineering or related discipline
·        
Experience
in the Shelter sector is preferred
·        
Previous
experience working in a refugee setting and with refugees is an added advantage
·        
Previous
experience working for NGOs
·        
Experience
training others on masonry work and supervising construction work
·        
Ability
to follow designs strictly
·        
Fluent
in English both verbally and in writing
·        
Team
player
