in 1983, with 11 campuses and teaching sites in 8 countries. The University is
a non-denominational institution open to all, irrespective of religion,
ethnicity, gender or national origin. Since 2001, AKU has offered academic
programmes in nursing, medicine and education for and in countries in East
Africa.
Job Summary:  The Admissions & Records Associate will be
required to plan, implement and coordinate registry (i.e. student recruitment,
admissions, records, convocation) and student experience/academic activities
(i.e. co-curricular, term is, meetings) and provide reports on these matters to
achieve and maintain the University’s academic standards and quality assurance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Work in close liaison with assigned staff,
    coordinate die admission process to improve awareness 0f University
    programmes by admitting qualified candidates into the programmes.
  • Ensure compliance, accurate and timely
    production of student transcripts as well as effective planning of student
    activities.
  • Coordinate the convocation ceremonies in
    an organized manner
  • Ensure Updated students records and
    status as well as maintenance of university-student communication channels
  • Ensure effective operation of academic
    student experience and registration matters

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Admissions & Records Associate
    must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Three years of work experience within a
    University set-up preferably in academic administration 
  • Experience in
    academic record management
  • Demonstrated competence working with
    Microsoft software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Written and oral as well as coordination
    skills.
  • Experience working with an ERP database
    is an added advantage.
