Key Duties and Responsibilities: Assist
the Senior Legal Officer in executing the following functions:

- Representing the University and its organs in Courts of law and
other judicial and administrative Tribunals. - Handling arbitration, mediation and negotiations on behalf of the
University. - Tasked with interpreting laws and policies governing the University.
- Drafting and reviewing Court documents, contracts and other
correspondence. - Assisting in monitoring enactment of laws and regulations and assess
their impact on the operations of the University. - Carrying out legal research.
- Providing legal advice to the University and its Organs.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Bachelor’s law degree (LL.B) (with
Honours) - Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
- A Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) or other relevant post graduate
qualifications will be an added advantage. - Possession of a valid practicing certificate.
- A minimum of three years of post enrollment and litigation
experience obtained from a busy law firm or recognized organization. - Excellent knowledge of Litigation ,judicial processes and legal
drafting - Counseling, analytical and research skills
- Good negotiation, arbitration and mediation skills
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Analytical thinking and judgment skills
- Result oriented and ability to manage a heavy work load while paying
attention to details - Computer literacy skills
- High level of honesty and integrity
- Interpersonal skills
- Age: Below 50
years
