Regional Manager Medical Supply Chain
Sciences Program is a collaborative Bio-medical research and service delivery
organization. It strives to improve the quality of life of the local population
through a combination of community based research, curative services and
prevention strategies in the District of Rakai, South Western Uganda. It is
based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute Entebbe and Kalisizo in Rakai
District.
monitoring and providing on-site support of medical logistics management in the
supported districts/health facilities according to MoH standards. ensure close
monitoring of ART commodities and stock levels, further ensure adequate supply
of quality drugs, responding to dynamic changes in demand, managing increased
volumes of commodities and minimizing pilferage and misuse.
- Assist the health workers in health facilities in their dispensing,
stock management, and storage management practices. - Provide technical assistance, mentorships and CMEs in medicines and
health supplies management. - Support districts to develop district pharmacy systems and annual
procurement plans - Support facilities in ordering pharmaceuticals and reporting
bi-monthly and participate in district order review meetings - Support health workers and medicine management supervisors to
implement RX solution, SPARS, PFM and submit all the required reports. - Strengthen pharmacovigilance and adherence issues in the health
facilities. - Participate in budgeting for supply chain activities, requisitioning
and appropriately account for the disbursed funds. - Develop and follow up on activity plans developed with the focal
logistics personnel in the district health facilities. - Participate in CMEs and disseminate information updates regarding
logistics management. - Perform any other assigned duties in line with your roles
- The applicant must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy OR Nursing
- Two years of experience in Medicines and Health Supplies Management
- Active Registration with the Allied Medical Practitioners Council Or
Nurses and Midwifes Council - Experience with HIV/AIDS Clinical Setting is an added advantage.
- Must be computer literate
- Knowledge in using WAOS & TWOS
- Good presentation and report writing skills
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to give timely feedback
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
