Association (SAA/SG2000) is an international non-profit organization that
promotes demonstration and widespread adoption of improved pre and
post-production agricultural technologies for smallholder farmers in Uganda in
collaboration with relevant government institutions, farmers’ organizations and
the private sector.
Job Summary:  The Program Coordinator will be responsible
for the implementation of the project agricultural activities for the value
chain projects. He/she will assist the Country Director in coordination of
field project officers. meetings, information and finances as well as
monitoring to ensure timely implementation of project activities and attain expected
outcomes
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare and submit detailed annual work
    plan and budget for project activities
  • Lead the identification and selection of
    intervention communities tor the project
  • Provide Administrative and financial
    management of project resources tor effective implementation of the
    project activities.
  • Monitor project activities by making
    regular field visits to project sites to provide technical guidance and
    advice to the Field Training Officers/extension workers and ensure
    deadlines are timely met
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual
    project reports/Ensure the project technical, financial and other required
    reports are produced in a timely manner and of high-quality standards
  • Ensure balanced and gender-responsive
    participation of stakeholders in all activities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree (masters preferred) in Agribusiness
  • Five years of experience working in
    related field with two years in Management
  • Knowledge about climate change
    adaptation, climate man agriculture techniques and practices
  • Solid organizational skills, including
    multitasking, and time-management
  • Good knowledge on Farmer Groups/Farmer
    institutional development; VSLAs and agricultural financing
