end of World hunger and poverty is partnering with Participatory Ecological
Land-Use Management Uganda (PELUM Uganda) a network of Civil Society
Organisations working to improve the livelihoods of small scale farmers and the
sustainability of rural communities, through the fostering of ecological land
use management, on a four (4) years project on agro ecology farming funded by
the Swedish Post Code Lottery.

Job Summary: The Agroecology Field Officer will spearhead
provision of community based technical support towards implementation of Agro
ecology interventions at the THPU Epicenters. The job holder will support the
joint project team from THPU and PELUM Uganda to implement the Agro ecology
Project activities and interventions at the Epicenter and targeted community
beneficiaries (farming households). S/he provides technical support to the
hunger project Epicenter on agro ecology in close coordination with the
sustainable farming systems program team at PELUM Uganda.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Organic Agriculture,
Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Agro-Ecology, Environmental
management or in any related field. Training in participatory community
resource management approaches is an added advantage. - Knowledge in Agro ecology/organic/Sustainable Agriculture and
Project – Planning and implementation. - Ability to mobilize and utilize resources
- Good research and documentation skills
- Training/facilitating skills
- Experience in managing and accounting for funds and other resources.
- At least three years of experience in the field of Agro ecology
Sustainable Agriculture in NGO related setting and directly working with
smallholder farming communities; - Extensive knowledge and understanding of Agro-ecology, climate
resilience. agriculture market development and seed systems; - Good knowledge and understanding of the agricultural sector;
- Previous experience of managing grants; and in working with
interdisciplinary team. - Ability to develop and maintain relationships with various internal
and external stakeholders. - Team player with positive attitude, flexible mind and good coaching
and metivaticnai skills.
