Job Summary: The Business
Analyst MFS will articulate business ideas; suggestions and problems in
technology terms and develop business cases to convert them into deliverable
solutions
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Perform Business analysis on IT product
    development projects in line with the agreed business methodology and business
    architecture guidelines
  • Review and understand system
    functionality applicable to each project
  • Input into identifying ways to fine tune
    systems in line with changing work practices
  • Determine, document, and review user
    requirements for all projects
  • Review requirements, determine objectives
    and risks and issues and update URS for the competency centre functional
    design
  • Review technical specifications to ensure
    user and functional requirements are met
  • Construct business cases for initiations
    proposed by the business
  • Research and consider best practice, local
    conditions, trends, as well as competitor activity
  • Identify business improvement and
    optimisation opportunities
  • Assist in identifying innovative ways to
    use minimum resources to achieve maximum   outputs
  • Design and document business solutions
    (process, system and measurements) that meetcurrent and future user requirements
  • Review and re-engineer processes in order
    to meet the required service levels
  • Translate the user requirements into
    functional system requirements in line with the current     system functionality and future
    roadmap, and ensure appropriate documentation thereof
  • Facilitate JAD (Joint Application Design)
    with relevant stakeholders
  • The MTN Uganda Business Analyst MFS
    will also define and construct context diagrams which form part of the
    basis of process mapping
  • Assist in drafting policies, processes
    and procedures
  • Provide information into test pack
    drafting
  • Evaluate situations and determine the
    best methods to reach defined outcomes
  • Address problems on a case by case basis,
    ensuring an optimal balance between the response to the situation, the
    cost of that response, and the core purpose of the organisation
  • Provide information and knowledge as
    required to resolve problems
  • Generate different options for the known
    problem, evaluate possible methods to resolve the  problem, and select the most appropriate
    solution in terms of enhanced effectiveness and efficiency, and reduced
    cost
  • The MTN Uganda Business Analyst MFS
    will conduct research relating to MTN OPCO business and systems
  • Sort, accumulate and analyse information
    from external sources to assist with problem     solving
  • Assist in identifying and assessing
    market trends, taking local conditions into consideration
  • Provide constant status reports and
    feedback as to business analysis deliverables to internal customers and
    program manager
  • Ensure traceability of requirements from
    business through to development and    
    implementation
  • Identify and prepare relevant information
    and data for reporting purposes
  • Deliver first time right service
    excellence
  • Establish and maintain quality standards
    that will enhance the customer experience and cost efficiency
  • Work consistently according to standard
    operating procedures

Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the MTN
    Uganda Business Analyst MFS job opportunity placement should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering,
    Information Systems, Information Technology, or any other related field.
  • Four to five years of business analysis
    and business optimisation experience, in process driven environments;
    system implementation experience in the telecommunication, service, supply
    chain and/or sales environment; process mapping tool experience; business
    case development experience
