services that support children growing up in safe and loving families.
- Actively contribute to the
de-institutionalisation of children and ensuring they are placed in
family-based care. - Support the team in identifying and
planning interventions in institutions and families for
deinstitutionalisation (placement, prevention of family breakdown or child
abandonment and post-placement follow up). - Support the team in identifying and planning
and delivering interventions for deinstitutionalisation. - Contribute to child and family
assessment, case management and placement decision, preparation of
children and families, and post-placement support - Provide advice and guidance to support
the development of the deinstitutionalisation model - Together with the team, plan and
document work plans and exit strategies in conjunction with the overall
strategic aims and priorities of the organisation - Together with the team, extract and
document learning for the purposes of sharing this with other focused
organisations and service providers. - To deliver good outcomes for disabled
children through taking referrals, completing timely assessments and
implementing effective service plans that safeguard vulnerable children. - To assess and promote the life chances
of disabled children, including children in care their health, education
and leisure needs. - Undertake any other activity that
contributes to the smooth running and development of the organisation.
- The applicant for the Child’s i
Foundation Social Worker job must hold a Bachelor’s degree qualification
in social work or related field. - At least two years of post-qualifying
experience, including in designated area of expertise and covering
assessment; report writing; ability to form trusting relationships; case
planning, implementation and review. - Knowledge of child development, theories
of attachment and loss. - Government policy relating to orphans
and vulnerable children (OVC) and in particular with regard to alternative
care. - Legislation in relation to OVC,
alternative care and reintegration. - Basic IT systems as required.
- Show commitment to learning and keeping
up to date. - Competent in core social work skills:
child protection and other assessments; report writing; ability to form
trusting relationships; case planning, implementation and review. - Able to demonstrate excellence in
practice in designated area of expertise. - Ability to contribute to the development
of strategic and operational plans. - Ability to work collaboratively within
the social work department and within the senior management team to
promote own area of expertise and to ensure that the different parts of
the organisation work together as a single service. - Ability to provide supervision, support
and guidance and to develop knowledge and skills in others. - Ability to work in partnership with
government representatives, other voluntary agencies, religious bodies,
and local leaders. - Good communication skills, including
written and verbal - Negotiation, conflict resolution and
advocacy skills - Ability to audit quality of practice
within designated area of expertise across the organisation, to collect
data as required and contributes to CiF’s monitoring and evaluation
activities - Able to demonstrate anti-discriminatory
practice in all areas of work - Confidence in providing training and
mentoring and ability to present effectively at learning and development
workshops and conferences
