Job Summary: The
Child Protection Systems and Information Assistant will provide grassroots
CPIMS management and implementation, monitoring and documentation of
Unaccompanied & Separated children, generate reports in different forms and
share data to partners as per the information sharing protocol and assumes the
responsibilities given under the purpose in accordance with a well-defined
framework of policies and procedures under immediate supervision. He or She
will ensure the smooth information exchange between UNHCR, UNICEF, and other key
CPIMS Implementing Partners. He or she will further give extended support in
relation to child protection at the Child Friendly Spaces and psychosocial
support guided by WV Uganda Policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Control the system databases as allocated with supervision of the
    systems Facilitator.
  • Generate and submit all case management system standard reports
    including all weekly reports analyzed case management status updates, and
    statistical data reports.
  • Tasked with filing and data management for all cases of
    Unaccompanied and Separated Children, and children at risk.
  • Input all case files into the child protection database
  • Review submitted case forms and give feedback to the staff on
    missing information, required feedback and follow up on updates as needed.
  • Update the child protection database as assigned by the supervisor
  • Analyze and respond to report requests from the case workers
  • Regular archive and backup of the child protection database and
    submit to the Facilitator
  • Assign database codes to new individual cases in an organized and
    accurate manner as guided by the supervisor
  • Ensure confidentiality of all children information including files.
  • Contingency planning during the time of evacuation to protect hard
    & soft copy of case management data especially for children at risk
    with protection concerns.
  • Provide support to case workers on errors made during any case form
    assessments and data entry so as to improve data quality.
  • Provide updates lists of cases to the respective case workers in the
    specific location.
  • Participate in case conferences so as to update the files of the
    children
  • Provide field support to case workers when required on particular
    cases
  • Support staff to have a source of all case management empty forms
    both in office and at the CFSs.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the World Vision Child Protection Systems
    and Information Assistant job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
    information Communication Technology, Information management, Data
    Management, sociology, International Relations or related fields.
  • One year of experience working with database systems in an NGO
    context.
  • Past exposure and experience in child protection is an added
    advantage
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Ability to cope and deal with stress and work under stressful work
    conditions is a requirement
