Uganda offering a number of academic programmes in line with vocational
education, teacher training, hands-on engineering, special needs training,
social sciences, pure and applied sciences, entrepreneurship and management
that meet the Market remands and development needs of the Country. The
Strategic Focus Areas of the University include: Teaching Learning; Research,
Innovation and Knowledge Generation; Physical Infrastructure, Facilities and
ICT Development; Institutional Development and Strategic Marketing.
manage the marketing and public relations policies and strategies of the
University and act as a link between the University the public and other
organizations with the aim of projecting the image of the University positively
- Project and promote the University image to the people and students
in various institutions and schools. - Oversee the development of programs to be placed in the Mass Media
that will reflect the contribution of the University and its achievements
in the provision of higher education. - Oversee preparation and production of information about the
University’s programs and activities through newsletters, bulletins, press
releases and other publications - Market the University programs through advertisements, exhibitions,
radio and television talks, shows, and manuals or bulletins and
conferences. - Coordinate arrangements and preparations for University functions
such as graduations. - Provide feedback to Management on the opinion of the public about
the University. - Respond to public complaints about the University activities in
accordance with the University’s communication strategy. - Guide the Vice-Chancellor on the right course of action to take on
major public complaints published in mass-media or in letters addressed to
the Vice chancellor. - Oversee the preparation of market surveys on the university’s
products and services. - Appraise the performance of staff in the Section and recommend
appropriate action.
- The applicant must hold a masters’ degree in Mass Communications,
Journalism, Public Relations or a related filed from a recognized
University/Institutions. - A Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public
Relations or a related field from a recognized University/Institution. - At least six years’ experience in Public Relations and Marketing
related duties in a reputable public or private Organization, three of
which at the level of a Public Relations/Marketing officer. - Good communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Computer literacy skills

55 years old at the time of application

certificates, and professional qualifications, appointment letters, and in
case of health workers; registration certificates and valid practicing

birth certificate or copies of relevant pages of the passport and National
ID indicating the applicant’s date of birth.
