Research, Monitoring and Evaluation
Opportunities Commission (EOC) was established by the Equal Opportunities Act
of 2007 and is mandated to provide a framework for redressing imbalances which
exist against the marginalized groups while promoting equal opportunities for
all.
- Conduct equal opportunities situational analysis and define EOC
research needs and priority areas in line with National Development plan,
strategic plan, research policies and guidelines. - Develop and implement equal opportunities research proposals in line
with the organizational mandate, strategic plan, research policies and
guidelines - Develop and implement equal opportunities annual organizational and
departmental research work plans in line with National Development plan,
strategic plan, research, policies and guidelines - Develop and implement a framework and strategies for research data
collection including the development of research tools and instruments in
line with National Development plan, strategic plan, research policies and
guidelines - Develop and implement strategies for managing filed research
activities and data enumerators in line with EOC research policies and
guidelines - Develop and implement a system for research data analysis and
quality assurance in line with EOC strategic plan, research policies and
guidelines - Develop equal opportunities periodic research reports in line with
EOC reporting requirements and guidelines. - Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the
responsible officer.
- The applicant must hold an Honours Degree in Quantitative Economics,
Statistics, Economics, Population Studies, Demography, Public Policy or
Social Sciences or Social Work and Social Administration (SWASA) from a
recognized Institution - Possession of a Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Population
studies, Demography or Development studies. - At least six years of relevant working experience, three (3) of
which should have been served at Senior Research Officer level in
Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization. - The applicant should be Competent in Research and information
management
- Strong leadership, teamwork and management skills
- Demonstrate competence in strategic planning and research methods
- Demonstrate ability to cultivate strategic partnerships
- Demonstrate excellent communication and networking and negotiation
competences with good understanding of Government operational regulations
and policy - High level interpersonal, collaborative and cross- cultural skills
- Analytical and conceptual skills
- High level of integrity and transparency
- Ability to deal with competing demands
- Proficiency in computer and computer packages
- Demonstrate hands on experience in managing projects
