Information Officer
Commission of Uganda serves the following functions;
- Appoint, promote and exercise
disciplinary control over persons holding public office in Parliament; - Review the terms and conditions of
service, standing orders, training and qualifications of persons holding
office in Parliament; - Provide a Parliamentary reporting
service; - Provide such other staff and facilities
as are required to ensure efficient functioning of the Parliament; - To cause to be prepared in each
financial year, estimates of revenue and expenditure for the next
financial year; and - Make recommendations to Parliament, or
with the approval of Parliament, determine the allowances payable and
privileges available to the Speaker and Members of Parliament.
Information Officer- Producer will mainly ensure Parliamentary Radio shows are
tailored to key audience demographics and run as planned
- Schedule programmes (traffic)
- Executing and implementing programmes
- Developing content, writing material for scripts, bulletins and
links - Sourcing potential guests for talk show programs
- Selecting audio content appropriate to the programme, the audience
and the station - Producing pre-production briefs for presenters, writers, technical
staff and other contributors. - Using technology, such as Cool Edit Pro, Pro Tools and Adobe
Audition, for editing and production purposes - Selecting entertainment/material appropriate to the program, the
audience and station - Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
- The applicant must hold an Honors Degree in Mass Communication or
Journalism with a bias in Broadcasting OR a Bachelor’s degree with a Diploma
in Mass communication or Journalism - Excellent command of both spoken and written English
- Creative and innovative
- Good editing skills
- Ability to use Sound editing programs like Cool Edit Pro, Pro Tools,
Adobe Audition and Imediatouch
qualified Ugandans are encouraged to send updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) stating
two referees; and certified copies of their academic certificates and
