2008, pursuing a vision of A hunger and Malnutrition free Uganda. HFU is
engaged in activities of fighting hunger in Uganda with a local, national and
global perspective. The organisation programmes are focused on a goal of
creating empowered food secure communities. The main areas of work are
Agriculture and sustainable livelihoods, Food and Nutrition Security,
Humanitarian support, Research, Advocacy and Capacity Development. At the core
of fighting hunger, the organization considers gender and sustainable
environmental conservation as important crosscutting issues.
Job Summary: The
Administrative Officer will act as the point of contact for all
employees/staff, providing administrative support and managing their queries so
as to ensure effective and efficient implementation of designed programmes and
particular projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and implement work plans
    including administrative processes aligned with designed strategies and
    policies to facilitate efficient and effective administrative services.
  • Initiate and implement best and
    effective practices in administrative functions.
  • Facilitate compliance of services
    provided through designed programmes and projects under taken by Hunger
    Fighters Uganda.
  • Lead, direct and mentor administrative
    staff to achieve maximum output for organization.
  • Build good relationships and trust
    between Hunger Fighters Uganda and target beneficiary individuals and/ or
    groups.
  • Assist and support accounts department
    in financial operations.
  • Assist and support processing payroll
    records for the organization.
  • Ensure timely completion of financial
    and other administrative audits.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements
    for the management team
  • Manage databases and document processes
    and systems instrument
  • Schedule in-house and external events.
  • Arrange for official travel and
    accommodations for staff.
  • Prepare reports and presentations with
    statistical data, as assigned by relevant authority.
  • Maintain calendar and schedule
    appointments and programmes as designed by the organization.
  • Update organization/office policies as
    needed and guided by relevant authorities of Hunger Fighters Uganda.
  • Organize regular reports on expenses and
    organization/office budgets.
  • Perform any other assigned task as may
    be recommended by relevant authority.
