Limited is jointly owned by the Governments of the Republic of Uganda 0.03% and
the Libyan Foreign Bank (LFB) 99.97% of Paid-up Capital. The Bank provides
professional and personalized commercial banking services to various sectors of
the economy including financial support to Parastatals, Corporates, Small and
Medium Enterprises, Individuals, and Non-Governmental Organisations.
Job Summary:  The Manager, Sales will strategically plan,
coordinate, monitor and grow sales of all the Retail banking products and
channels i.e. number of accounts, liabilities, assets and product utilization
through customer acquisition and cross-sell in line with the Consumer banking
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Spearhead the development
    of the Retail budget and drive the growth in products to achieve quality
    portfolios and revenues in accordance with established targets.
  • Plan and support the
    branch managers and sales teams in development of specific sales models
    within the overall strategic framework.
  • Design and implement
    customer acquisition and retention strategies by maintaining budgeted
    levels through a mix of portfolio pricing and new business yield aligned
    to our customer needs.
  • Build effective
    relationships with corporate organizations/employers and provide direct
    support to sales teams in managing these relationships to increase and
    maintain our retail customer base in line with the set targets.
  • Train, mentor and motivate
    the sales team (both direct and indirect reports) towards the achievement
    of agreed targets, retaining quality portfolios and relationship
    management in line with the business goals.
  • Drive, manage and track
    the performance of the retail banking team both qualitatively and
    quantitatively towards achieving the set business goals and targets.
  • Benchmark the bank’s
    products and services offering from time to time against competitor activities
    and take appropriate action.
  • Execute marketing programs
    for existing customers to protect/ increase market share through top-ups
    and anti-attrition programs.
  • Cross sell and deep sell
    all the bank’s services and products to the target market to grow the
    retail banking portfolios in accordance with established targets.
  • Monitor trends in the
    development of products within the market and ensure timely delivery in
    line with the Product Development Committee guidelines
  • Develop opportunities to
    increase commission based income and create awareness to continuously
    increase usage of our branches and electronic delivery channels.
  • Identifying customer needs
    and define business requirements for electronic banking (i.e. ATMs,
    MoneyGram, Internet banking, Phone banking, Point of Sales, Visa/
    MasterCard) as per       the bank’s
    delivery channel strategy.
  • Focus and drive
    utilisation of our products to the non-resident (Diaspora) community with
    the aim of growing the portfolio

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the
    Tropical Bank Limited Manager, Sales job placement must hold a bachelor’s
    degree in a business related field such as Business Administration,
    Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics and Statistics
  • Master’s degree or Post
    graduate diploma in Business Administration or in any of the above fields
    or a professional qualification such as ACCA is a strong added advantage
  • Five years of experience
    in banking
  • An established and
    demonstrable track record in the field of Banking, customer acquisition and
    retention, as well as proven skills in all risk aspects of consumer
  • A good understanding of
    Electronic banking products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of
    bank operations
  • Industry best practices
    and current developments
