regulate, supervise, monitor and control the business of Insurance in Uganda.
will provide effective statutory and legal support to IRA so that legislations
are in place in accordance to the Insurance Act and other pertinent laws.
- Provide regulatory, legal
advice to IRA network. - Review, research and draft
pertinent legal documents in accordance with statutory requirements - Actively participate in
monitoring and reviewing legislation. - Provide report on
legislation affecting operations of IRA as and when the need arises - Actively participate in
preparing Board papers for board meetings. - Provide support to the
Operations Directorate on inspection matters. - Work in liaison with the
Manager Complaints & Litigation, review and provide advice on
inquiries, litigation and general public queries. - Participate in
implementing Board decisions that are legally related. - Carry out any other duties
as may be assigned from time to time.
- The ideal candidate for
the Insurance Regulatory Authority
of Uganda Manager Regulation & Drafting job placement must hold
a Bachelor’s degree in Law - Postgraduate diploma in
law - Master’s degree in Law
- Seven years of
post-enrolment experience in drafting of laws, guidelines, agreements, etc
as an advocate in a similar/related organization, three of which must be
at supervisory level in a reputable organisation.
