Laboratory Technologist will primarily manage the Medical Centre laboratory
services and carry out specialized analysis for disease diagnosis, treatment,
prevention and control of epidemics, and research.
- Plan and budget for laboratory services in the Medical Centre.
- Participate in investigations of epidemic disease outbreaks.
- Participate in collection, handling, and analyzing specimens brought
for investigation in the laboratory. - Carryout laboratory analysis, interpreting results and submitting reports
to the clinicians. - Requisition and account for laboratory equipment, materials.
- Compile and submit reports to the Director Health Service.
- Planning and budgeting for laboratory activities carried out.
- Laboratory investigations for the identification of epidemic disease
outbreaks carried out. - Laboratory test results and treatment harmonized.
- Clinical staff advised on proper collection, handling and
transportation of specimen. - Laboratory equipment, materials and other resources requisitioned
for, kept securely and accounted for. - Laboratory data compiled, analyzed and stored.
- Appropriate disposal of laboratory wastes done.
- Reports compiled and submitted.
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory
Technology. - A minimum of three years of working experience in a recognised
hospital/ Health Canter.
