regulate, supervise, monitor and control the business of Insurance in Uganda.
support for evaluating complex risks and assess the probability and potential
financial consequences of risks among licensed insurance players in accordance
with the Insurance Act
- Verify estimates for
outstanding claims, IBNR and unearned premiums and other technical
provisions for insurance Companies. - Review Actuarial valuation
reports and liaise with Consultants and Actuaries on actuarial matters
including products, valuations, and critical business statistics required. - Keenly monitor players in
the insurance industry to ensure they comply with the provisions of the
Insurance Act on a risk sensitive basis - Review products, premium
rates and commission rates. - Work in liaison with the
Legal Department, handle complaints from insurance players and the general
public - Collect data from industry
reports and update the existing actuarial models - Provide technical advice
in view of the Authorities legislation and regulation. - Assess re-insurance and
front the necessary arrangements - Carry out any other duties
assigned from time to time
- The ideal candidate for
the Insurance Regulatory Authority
of Uganda Actuarial Officer job placement must hold a relevant
Bachelor’s (Honours) degree from a recognized University. - Professional qualification
in Actuarial (at least 4 papers). - Three years’ experience in
insurance preferably claims, underwriting or reinsurance in a reputable
organisation.
