Job Summary:  The Human Capital Manager –Employee Relations
will be expected to maintain employee relations for Pride staff, administer
welfare schemes, counselling of staff, handle discipline and employee
grievances as well as undertaking branch visits to ascertain comprehensive occupational
welfare services for staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Plan, develop and implement an appropriate employee relations
    strategy, policies, procedures and welfare systems to motivate staff.
  • Administer the company’s disciplinary and ethical code of conduct.
  • Undertake organizational climate analysis regularly and inform of
    results and way forward.
  • Promptly handle employee grievances and harmonize industrial
    relations by counselling staff.
  • Actively participate in the review of compensation packages and
    other benefits available to employees of Pride.
  • Maintain the job evaluation system by ensuring that job descriptions
    are kept up to date and jobs graded appropriately.
  • Review staff evaluation and other standard forms and propose
    appropriate changes.
  • Keenly monitor staff job satisfaction and motivation trends by
    undertaking organizational climate analysis every year and making
    appropriate recommendations.
  • Manage the health and safety policy as well as the HIV/AIDS policy
    functions of the institution to enable employees gain awareness of their
    rights.
  • Assist in activities to enhance the employer employee relations at
    Pride.
  • Develop and implement HR initiatives and interventions as agreed
    upon e.g by organizing cultural days and workshops.
  • Maintain and update personal files for all employees and ensure they
    are up to date with the help of the Employee Relations Officer.
  • Conduct branch visits and gather staff views for presentation to the
    Head Human Capital Management
  • Implement Employee recognition programs geared towards staff
    motivation and team building which may include among others; activities
    such as awarding certificates to the outstanding performers, Employee of
    the Month and year, birthday messages, etc.
  • Manage the health and safety function of the organization
  • Ensure that all employees are advised on HR policies and legislation
    which concern them, e.g. conditions of service, government legislation,
    Code of Conduct and policies and procedures.
  • Conduct employee exist interviews to monitor and report on reasons
    for staff turnover at the time of resignations for all employees and
    recommend remedial action.
  • Managing the process of dismissals, retirements and transfers as
    appropriate.
  • Undertake organizational climate analysis regularly and provide
    information of results and way forward.
  • Participate in recruitment, induction programs ensuring all staff
    are taken through this program and that new employees receive all the
    information they need to al-low them to integrate effectively.
  • Participate in reviewing staff evaluation forms and other standard
    forms with a view to proposing appropriate changes.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The ideal candidate for the Pride Information Human Capital Manager
    –Employee Relations job placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Guidance and
    Counselling or in any other relevant / related field.
  • He / She must also possess a Postgraduate Diploma in Human resource
    Management from a reputable institution.
  • Should possess 2 Principal passes at A’ Level and Credits and for
    passes in Maths and English at O’ Level.
  • Four years of hands-on experience with proven and demonstrable
    people management skills.
  • He/she should be a self-driven, dynamic, self-motivated, team
    player, results oriented, analytical, with excellent inter- personal
    skills and very good computer knowledge.
  • The ideal candidate should have the following competencies: Business
    acumen, good time Management, confidentiality, have empathy, humane, be
    friendly, sensitive, good at stress Management, Reporting, Written &
    Oral communication skills, Planning, Coaching, Decision Making, Team
    building, Problem solving, Change Management, Emotional intelligence,
    Advocacy, Motivation and Negotiation.
  • Age: Between 28
    and 40 years
