client, a reputable commercial bank in Uganda.
Job Summary:  The Head of Finance and Administration will
be responsible for the Finance, Procurement and Administration functions of the
country business unit. The position holder will be in charge of policy setting,
financial reporting, planning, budgeting and performance monitoring.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide robust financial analysis and support for all functions;
  • Develop and maintain standard financial and administrative
    procedures;
  • Manage expenses in line with applied company policies;
  • Drive robust planning processes to deliver strategic plans;
  • Provide quality statutory reports of the Bank to various
    stakeholders;
  • Coordinate all audit (internal/external/regulators) work in
    business;
  • Build strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders; and
  • Manage the team’s performance.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business or
    equivalent;
  • A relevant professional qualification e.g. CPA /ACCA, MBA is an
    added advantage;
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience post-attainment of professional
    qualification;
  • Five years’ experience in middle to senior management role;
  • Experience in banking, auditing and/or other financial institutions
    would be an added advantage.
  • Practical experience of using an Enterprise Risk Reporting System (ERP)
  • Good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards;
  • Good understanding of taxation laws.
