Network (LASPNET)
Non-Governmental Organization established in Uganda to harness, strengthen, and
sustain synergies across the country among Legal Aid Service Providers (LASPs)
in complementing Government of Uganda’s efforts for enhancing access to
justice. The Democratic Governance Facility (DGF) has given support to IASPNET
towards implementation of project activities across the Justice, Law, and Order
Sector with focus on improving coordination structures, monitoring and
evaluation frameworks, policy reform approaches, capacity building initiatives,
and various strategic mechanisms taking it a more proactive role in setting
legal aid agenda.
Program Assistant – Lobby and Advocacy will support the Lobby and Advocacy function
of the organization working closely with the Lobby and Advocacy Officer white
engaging government institutions, members (LASPs), service providers and other
advocacy partners in Uganda and across East African region in lobbying,
advocacy, media outreach and legal aid and human rights awareness, education
and advocacy campaign management.
- The applicant must hold a
degree in Law, development studies or in Social work or Human Rights or
related field; - A minimum of two years of
relevant practical experience in working in similar work and providing
advocacy based intervention related with legal assistance and community
rights awareness; - Hard work with
self-motivated - Skills in research and
presentation - Stakeholder engagement
