Job Summary:
The Driver will support the transportation function of IAU office and in all

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Driving Clients
- Delivering parcels as expected
- Ensure the vehicle is in a clean condition to reflect the image of
the organization.

- Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition
- Identifying mechanical faults and any other defects on the vehicle
and report immediately to the senior driver.

- Ensure that oil is at correct level; arrange to requisition oil as
necessary. - Check water level.
- Check that tyres are in good condition and are at correct pressure,
check tightness of wheel nuts. - Ensure that brake and clutch fluids are at correct level, top up as
necessary. For air operated systems blow off air reservoir. - Check that all lights, indicators and windscreen wipers are in
working order. - On the road ensure that the speedometer and other gauges function
and report any malfunction. - Check fitting and adjustment of rear view mirrors.
- Check for presence of vehicle tool kit.
- Ensure at all times that the vehicle is securely locked for the
safety of company tools and other properties in custody of the driver. - Ensure staffs have written authority before use of the vehicle on
private journeys or errands. - Attend and participate in section and staff meetings.
Administration:
- Completing on a daily basis the motor vehicle utilization log book
and submit it on a regular basis. - Ensure that all fuel issues are recorded against the correct vehicle
number. - Monitors the expiry third party license and warn the Officer in
charge 45 days in advance. - Verifying that all damaged parts are replaced when vehicle is
repaired or serviced.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the InterAid Uganda Limited (IAU) Driver job
opportunity should preferably hold an “O” level certificate. - At least three years’ experience in a reputable organization
- Possess a clean driving record
- Valid Driver’s license with class B, CM, DL
- Knowledge of defensive driving
- Knowledge of the Ugandan traffic laws and regulations
- Safety consciousness
- A high measure of integrity, reliability, independence and
flexibility - Openness to learn and ability to adapt and acquire new skills
