the RALNUC programme, which is implemented in three districts in Acholi
Sub-region from 2015 to 2018. In Kitgum and Lamwo districts the intervention
for Agricultural Production and Marketing, APM, is implemented by RALNUC
Agricultural Unit (RAU). The main target is to increase the value of the
agricultural crop production for the participating small scale farmers with 25%
over a three year period. RALNUC works with 690 farmer groups or app. 20,000
farmers in the two districts.
will be replaced by the Northern Uganda Resilience initiative, NURI, which will
also be implemented in Kitgum and Lamwo districts by RAU. NURI will build on
the experiences from RALNUC but also include new activities and approaches.
Among the new initiatives is a stronger focus on climate man agriculture and
inclusion of Palabek Ogili Refugee Settlement in the programme
RAU and implementing the agricultural activities of RALNUC and NURI in Kitgum
and Lamwo Districts.
- Prepare annual work plans and budgets.
Ensure that the activities are implemented in accordance with work plans
and the given implementation guidelines. - Regularly carry out field monitoring of
activities and give feedback to the staff.
- Prepare quarterly and annual progress
reports as well as monthly highlights. - Request tor and account tor funds and
ensure that funds are used in accordance with the financial guidelines. - Enforce guidelines on proper use of
programme assets and facilities. - Recruitment of staff.
- Supervise and manage staff and carry out
annual appraisal of staff. - Train, coach and mentor staff.
- Work closely with the RALNUG Regional
Coordinator who is based in Kitgum. - Liaise closely with Kitgum and Lamwo
DLGs about issues relating to agricultural training, marketing, animal
traction and VSLA. - Liaise with 0PM and UNHCR about issues
relating to implementation in refugee settlements. - Perform other duties as may be necessary
e.g. participate in radio programs and attend coordination meetings
- The applicant must hold a bachelor’s
degree in Agricultural Sciences or similar from a recognized
university. - Four years’ experience in agricultural
development works, with two years of experience in management positions - Post graduate diploma in project
planning and management will be an added advantage - Good mobilization, organizational, team
building and communication skills - Knowledge about financial management and
procurement - Good report writing skills
- Fluency in English and the local
language in Acholi Sub-region. - Computer skill i.e. MS Office
