2008, pursuing a vision of A hunger and Malnutrition free Uganda. HFU is
engaged in activities of fighting hunger in Uganda with a local, national and
global perspective. The organisation programmes are focused on a goal of
creating empowered food secure communities. The main areas of work are
Agriculture and sustainable livelihoods, Food and Nutrition Security,
Humanitarian support, Research, Advocacy and Capacity Development. At the core
of fighting hunger, the organization considers gender and sustainable
environmental conservation as important crosscutting issues.
Job Summary: The
Field Monitor will be responsible for community and beneficiary mobilization
and sensitization of the project goal and objectives. Directly manage GFA
Distribution at the Food Distribution Points (FDP) of responsibility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide support in the implementation of
    the plan of action, review achievements and constraints and provide
    feedback accordingly;
  • Assist in conducting regular meetings
    with local administration and implementing partners on the commodity
    pipeline, distribution arrangements, food entitlements and other relevant
    issues;
  • Identify potential problems in the
    Programme and discuss remedial action with project authorities or report
    to appropriate personnel;
  • Supervise and train other personnel as
    appropriate;
  • Conduct Performance Appraisals (PAs)
    exercise to identify community problems, solutions and sub-project which
    the community can participate in their implementation with the technical
    support from Hunger Fighters Uganda.
  • Develop sub-project design documents and
    budgets using HFU provided formats and get consensus from relevant
    Partners and the beneficiary community.
  • Ensure sub-project implementation is
    coordinated to ensure
    efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct continuous site monitoring
    visits to check progress of project implementation.
  • Conduct on-site trainings of project
    participants on various aspects of project implementation.
  • Filing of project documents and
    reporting.
  • Perform any other related duties as
    required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Hunger
    Fighters Uganda (HFU) Field Monitor job placement must hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Nutrition,
    Agriculture and disciplines.
  • Field experience in field logistics
    management is desired. 
  • Working Knowledge of Kiswahili and
    Kinyarwanda
  • The applicant must be a person who is
    self-starter, who can accomplish the task with minimal or no supervision.
  • He/she should be able to manage a team
    of staff as well as cooperate with other units and IPs.
  • Good knowledge and skills in using MS
    Office applications
