Limited (IAU) is a non-governmental humanitarian national organization
established in 1988, and duly registered with the NGO Board and NGO Forum. IAU
is actively involved in programs geared towards the protection and improvement
of lives of disadvantaged people living in urban and rural areas in Uganda and
in the Great Lakes Region. InterAid Uganda is focused on its thematic areas of
Rights Protection, Education, Livelihood & Food Security, Health
(HIV&AIDS; Malaria; Maternal and Reproductive Health), Water, Sanitation
& Hygiene (WASH), Environment and Disaster Management and good Management
and Governance systems.
The Interpreter will facilitate clear and proper communication between the
clients and the communicating staff.

- Provide day to day interpretation services to InterAid Uganda.
- Interpret for Protection Officers, UNHCR Community Services Staff,
IAU staff, refugees and asylum seekers in as guided by the lead
communicator. - Provide relevant information about the country of origin of the clients,
cultures and habits of the nationality interacted with most to support the
team. - Translate documents from other languages to English as may be
required. - Liaise with staff concerned on any refugee issues of interpretation.
- Conduct field visits as required for interpretation purposes.
- Where necessary, Interpret for resettlement missions as may be
required. - Compile weekly, monthly, half year, and annual reports and ensure
timely submission. - Actively participate in section meetings and any organization
related meetings as and when they occur - Carry out any other duty assigned to you from time to time in line
with the job.
- Continuously assess risks inherent in the job.
- Develop mitigation measures to curb the risk.

Interpreter job opportunity should preferably hold an “O” level
certificate - At least two years of related work experience
- Good communication skills.
- High level of integrity
- Computer literate with knowledge of MS Word, MS EXCEL, MS Power
point. - Good interpersonal skills
- Team player
- Ability to speak, understand and interpret or translate the
following languages to English - DRC- French, Swahili, Lingala, Kinyabwisha, Kinyamulenge, Mashi,
Kikongo - Somalia- Somali, Swahili
- Sudan- Sudanese Arabic,
