National Water and
Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) a leading organisation in the Water sector in
Uganda with a Vision “To be a leading Water Utility in the World.” NWSC is a
utility parastatal 100% owned by The Government of Uganda. It was established
in 1972 under decree No: 34. The mandate of the Corporation as defined in the
National Water & Sewerage Corporation Statute of 1995, Section 5 (1), is to
operate and provide water and sewerage services in areas entrusted to it, on a
sound, commercial and viable basis. The NWSC operations were initially in three
towns of Kampala, Jinja, and Entebbe.

Job Summary: The Electrical Technician mainly maintains
availability, reliability and maintainability of machinery and electrical
equipment and system.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled predictive and
preventive maintenance task on a variety of electrical equipment, and
control panels such as Direct on line, Star-Delta, Soft starters and
Variable frequency drives - Inspect and test electrical equipment,
components and assemblies - Diagnose sources of problems by and
performs root cause analysis for all the faults identified, and carryout
repair/replacement/modification of components and systems. - Carryout installation of new electrical
equipment, and wiring of a new control panel - Performs minor and major overhauls
- Test run repaired machinery and
equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs. - Advises on the type and specifications
of new tools required. - Prepares specification for equipment,
components/spare parts and sub assemblies to be procured - Complete work orders, test and
maintenance reports - Prepares monthly and situational
specific reports - Performs any other job assigned
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the National Water
and Sewerage Corporation Industrial Electrical Technician jobs should hold
Ordinary Diplomas in Electrical Engineering from recognized Technical
Institutes. - A minimum of three years of working
experience in the related field, preferably in a utility - Possesses a high level of initiative,
commitment to work, ability to meet tight deadlines, excellent
communication and inter personal skills - Be good player, highly motivated and
capable of working with minimum supervision - Be able to work independently, produce
results and meet set targets - Be able to demonstrate high levels of
customer care - Be willing to work in any designated operational
Area in Uganda - The applicant should not have any
criminal record - Age: Below 35 years
