Project Officer
Development (ACODEV) is a regional NGO that was founded in 2003 and runs
Integrated Community Development Programs in Public Health, Human Rights, OVC
support, Livelihood and Grassroots Capacity Development programs including
sub-granting for small grassroots organizations in East and now Southern Africa
region.
USAID, ACODEV, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as the Prime,
is implementing a 5-year consortium Program: Sustainable Outcomes for Children
and Youth (SOCY).
Youth Field Assistant will support youth economic, social and livelihoods
programming for ACODEV in the respective Sub County under the USAID/SOCY
project. She/he will assist project implementation by working directly with
community youth groups, coordinating various youth project activities and
events in support of ACODEV’ work to serve the poor and vulnerable youth in
Kibaale district.
youth to participate in the program:
Carry out
re-verification of youth from enrolled households and recruit those who meet
the stipulated program criteria of age, and vulnerability into the youth
program activities
Seek
consent from care givers and assent from adult youth before recruitment into
the program
Mobilise
youth into groups to provide platforms for training
retention of youth beneficiaries
Undergo
ToTs to grow knowledge & skills on the program curriculum as required
Deliver
the program curriculum and training sessions as per the manual, adhering to the
guidelines and standards. (AflaTEEN, Entrepreneurship and Agribusiness)
Identify
Key skill gaps within the youth relative to the local economic opportunities
and provide feedback to supervisor on training requirements/ needs
Track
attendance and report on attrition or other challenges regularly to the area
supervisor
Endeavour
to follow up & support youth participants who face various challenges such
as gender related problems, psychosocial related issues, poor attendance, drop
outs etc.
& Reporting:
Follow
up on the youth after the training to track their progress
Actively
participate in regular team meetings to track implementation progress and share
relevant field data (e.g. attendance lists, feedback forms etc)
Capture
and share success stories of the youth with supervisors
Collect
relevant data for monitoring and evaluation purposes
Facilitate
the mentoring of rural youth entrepreneurs to execute their business plans i.e.
starting up and expanding their businesses
The ideal
candidate for the Youth Field Assistant USAID Project jobs must hold an A’
level certificate
Experience
in community development
Ability
to motivate and influence youth
Ability
to conduct trainings
Excellent
interpersonal and oral and written communication skills a must;
Proven
ability and experience working independently will be an added advantage.
