Ministries, are implementing the bilateral co-operation between Uganda &
Belgium.
Job Summary:  The National Pedagogy Project Officers will
be in charge of the following pedagogy activities:
  • One (1) Pedagogy Project Officer will be in charge of Library, ICT
    in Teaching & Learning and Safe Learning Environment
  • One (1) National Pedagogy Project Officer in charge of Continuous
    Professional Development, Professional modules, research and pedagogical
    projects
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Actively participate in the planning, implementation and monitoring
    of the Teacher Training Education Project in general, and in the pedagogy
    component in particular.
  • Participate to the Results Based framework implemented in the NTCs
    (participation to the preparation of the reviews, support to the
    Committees for planning and budgeting pedagogy activities supported by
    Enabel). Participate in the Pedagogy Team meetings meetings (with
    representatives of Ministry of Education, Kyambogo University, NTCs and
    Enabel).
  • Plan, implement and monitor, together with all stakeholders, the
    pedagogy activities they are in charge of.
  • Development of content such as tools and guidelines that will
    contribute to the implementation of the above activities
  • Preparation of the administrative documents (justification, terms of
    reference, budget…) needed for the approval and organization of the
    activities
  • Preparation and delivery of quality documents such as attendance
    lists, reports, presentations, minutes, etc
  • Proper physical and electronic archiving of correspondence, reports,
    pictures and other project related documents On (in the NTCs) and off-site
    follow- up of the implementation of the above activities, which can
    include prepare and attend meetings, review and comment documents,…
  • Participate to the different education networks existing at the
    central level (monitoring and evaluation meetings …) on relevant issues
    for the project
  • Participate to any other relevant project activities (e.g.:
    coordination meetings, preparation of Steering Committees, etc.).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Master’s degree (in Education, Social
    Work, Social Sciences, or its equivalent). Masters degree in Education, in
    areas of Pedagogy, teacher training, adult teaching, Library management is
    desired
  • Five years of proven experience in the education sector
  • Two years of proven experience in project management (preparation,
    implementation and follow-up of project activities)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (excel, outlook, word and
    PowerPoint skills have to be on a proficient level) and internet Good
    communication and facilitation skills (interest in participatory
    approaches and team work)
  • Willingness to work overtime and ability to bear stress
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
  • Experience in teacher education or adult teaching
  • Proven expertise in student-centred Active
  • Teaching & Learning approaches Postgraduate Diploma in project
    management or cooperation for development Experience in ICT in teaching
    and Learning Training Certificate in ICT in teaching and Learning
  • Training Certificate in e-leaming and/or blended learning
    (combination of face to face training and online learning)
  • Experience in working in and with NGO’s or in bi- or multilateral
    aid
  • Knowledge of the current secondary education curriculum review
  • Experience in cross cutting issues (gender, disability…)
  • Experience in the following areas:
  • ICT in teaching and learning;
  • Library management;
  • Safe learning environment (gender, disability…);
  • Continuous Professional Development; Development of training
    modules; Action and academic research; Personal projects.
