U3 (SC)- (14,451,457 – 16,684,564 p.a)
of Uganda was established by the National Library Act, 2003. This Act repealed
the Public Libraries Act, 1964 which had established the Public Libraries
Board. The Board had been charged with the responsibility of establishing,
equipping, managing and maintaining libraries in Uganda. Following the
enactment of the Local Governments Act, 1997, this responsibility was
decentralized to the local governments.
Senior Accountant heads the Accounts department and is responsible for managing
all financial transactions and supervising the accounts staff
- In charge of Board’s finances under supervision of Director
- Supervision of staff in the Accounts Section
- Control of expenditure
- Signing vouchers and cheques
- Preparation of annual estimates/Budgets
- Maintaining of Board’s fixed assets register
- Preparation of annual final accounts
- Responsibilities for Board’s Retirements Benefits schemes and insurance
policies - Any other duties assigned
- The Senior Accountant must hold a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) with
a bias in Accounting OR Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a
bias in Accounting OR Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. - Professional training in. CPA, ACCA etc is an added advantage.
- At least four years of working experience in a reputable
Organisation / Institution. - Computer literacy skills
