Job Summary: The
Security Manager for our project in Kampala, Uganda will be responsible
monitoring the security operations of the project, implement security policies,
regulations, rules, and norms and make sure that the environment in their
organization is safe for employers and visitors. He or she will check and
monitor the access control of the people who are visiting the company
construction site and other facilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Write or
review security-related documents, such as incident reports, proposals, and
tactical or strategic initiatives.
  • Train subordinate security professionals or other organization
    members in security rules and procedures.
  • Plan security for special and high-risk events.
  • Review financial reports to ensure efficiency and quality of
    security operations.
  • Order security-related supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate security operations or activities with public law
    enforcement, fire and other agencies.
  • Attend meetings, professional seminars, or conferences to keep
    abreast of changes in executive legislative directives or new technologies
    impacting security operations.
  • Assist in emergency management and contingency planning.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or
    intrusion alarms, following emergency response procedures.
  • Supervise subordinate security professionals, performing activities
    such as hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, or
    disciplining.
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard company
    assets, employees, guests, or others on company property.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Pernix Group Security Manager should have experience using
    relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)
  • The applicant must hold a High school diploma; Further education in
    security administration, criminal justice or similar field.
  • Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
  • Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Good knowledge of SAP is a must
  • Experience in international construction standards is a must.
  • Applicants with embassy construction projects experience will have
    an added advantage.
  • Physical Activities:
  • Work is generally conducted in an office environment. However,
    duties may occasionally involve working outside with a potential exposure
    to construction site environment. Use of personal protective equipment
    (PPE) is required. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot,
    respiratory, and hearing protective devices.
