Eskom Uganda Limited
is a subsidiary company of Eskom Enterprises based in South Africa. Our
business is operating and maintaining Nalubaale and Kiira hydroelectric Power
Stations. Their mission is to be the “Centre of Excellence in Power Concession
Management.”
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Plan, develop, Lead all regulatory and
    compliance strategies aimed at meeting business strategy.
  • Provide assurance that EUL complies with
    all contractual obligations i.e. concession agreements, Government
    legislations, statutory requirements and Eskom s policies and procedures.
  • Engage key stakeholders and Company
    Lawyers on contractual and legal issues. Update the Board on regulatory
    and compliance issues.
  • Perform internal compliance reviews to
    identify and report any areas of non- compliance as well as any
    organisational risks, and generate high level recommendations to assist
    management address the gaps.
  • Improve the compliance culture within
    the organization through awareness and training programmes.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits
    and ensure all findings are timeously addressed.
  • Formulate departmental plans and
    implement to meet departmental objectives.
  • Manage Regulatory and Compliance
    department resources (staffing, finances etc.)

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the Eskom Regulatory
    and Compliance job placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in
    Engineering, Law, Accounting, Finance, Audit, Risk
  • A Master s degree or MBA will be an
    added advantage.
  • Professional Registration with an
    accredited and reputable professional body e.g. IIA
  • Six years of practical and related work
    experience in Regulatory and Compliance, four of which are in a
    supervisory/management role.
