critical training and education to health professionals through its various

Job Summary:
The Procurement Officer will primarily ensure efficient, effective and timely
procurement and logistical support to Mengo Hospital operations while complying
with the relevant policies and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Procurement Officer will assist in
the development, review and ensure efficient and effective implementation
of procurement policies and procedures of Mengo Hospital - Support the end users in the development
of the departmental procurement plan and guide the users in procurement
planning and actual procurement processes - Monitor the implementation of the
procurement plan, provide guidance to the end users in preparation of
specifications, terms of reference and scope of works - Conduct market research to guide end
users in planning and budgeting - Execute procurement of imports, local purchases,
office supplies, drugs, hospital equipments, engineering equipment,
marketing items, spares and services as per requirements of prescribers. - Participate in sourcing for quotations
from prospective suppliers, analysis of quotations, advising on the
vendor, price to be used, making LPOs, following up the delivery of
ordered items and payment for Suppliers - In liaison with Audit and end users,
ensures that the delivered items or works are as per the agreed terms and
conditions of the purchase - Assisting in sensitization and training
the hospital staff, end users, management on better procurement practices - Maintaining an updated Supplier/
Contractor database - Maintaining a database of contracts/
Service Level Agreements. Monitors their performance with Contract
Managers, monitors their expiry dates and liaises with end users for
timely renewal - Supervise the Procurement Assistants
- Carry out any other duties as provided
for under Mengo Hospital policies and procedures as my be directed by the

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Procurement Officer must hold a
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics, Transport and Logistics,
Business Administration (Procurement), Pharmacy or any other related field
with CIPS (Partial or full) - At least three years’ experience in any
relevant field - Experience in procurement of drugs,
hospital equipments or exposure to hospital setting is an added advantage. - Excellent Computer skills in office
applications and any e-procurement package - Statistical analysis methods
- Knowledge of records and store
management - Contract administration and management
- Interpersonal, Negotiation and Problem Solving
Skills - Age: Below 35 years
