(WHH), founded in 1962, is today one of the biggest Non-Governmental Aid and
development agencies in Germany. We campaign against worldwide hunger and for
sustainable food and nutrition security by promoting site-appropriate farming,
establishing access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene, improving
healthcare and education for people living in rural areas as well as promoting
skills development for youth.
Monitoring Evaluation Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Coordinator will work
independently and contributes to further improving the quality of the country
programme in the coming years. The successful candidate will be based in the
Country Office but with travels to the Project locations
S/he
will be responsible to oversee all M&E activities related to the Ugandan
program
S/he
will support the M&E Officers in the different project locations to ensure
coherence with Welthungerhilfe standards and donor guidelines for Monitoring
and Evaluation
S/he
will be responsible for ensuring that detailed and feasible project monitoring
plans with indicator matrices are developed and applied
S/he
will assist project staff in application of web-based monitoring tools (Welthungerhilfe
is using the software AkvoFlow)
S/he
will lead the M&E induction process for new staff and build capacity in
this field through further training and advice.
S/he
will keep track on reporting and proposal timelines and contributes to report
and proposal writing
S/He
will show own initiative to facilitate learning between Welthungerhilfe staff
in Uganda and elaborates own suggestions on how to improve program quality
based on identified lessons learnt and best practices
S/he
will assist the regional advisor on accountability in roll-out and
incorporation of the Core Humanitarian Standard in the Ugandan program.
The
ideal candidate for the Welthungerhilfe (WHH) Monitoring Evaluation
Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Coordinator job placement should
preferably have five years of experience in the design and implementation of
M&E/MIS in development projects implemented by national/international
NGOs/UN bodies/ Government;
Proven
experience in Food and Nutrition Security and at least one additional thematic
area such as WASH and/or Vocation Skills Training
Experience
in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production
of reports;
Proven
ICT skills, especially in the development of MIS software using database
software;
Expertise
in analyzing data using the following software’s but not limited to AKVOFLOW, SPSS, ODK
Proven
working experience with accountability standards such as Core Humanitarian
Standards (CHS)
Excellent
training and facilitation skills.
Experience
in data visualization and dashboard creation
Demonstrated
attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work
independently and cooperatively with team members
Strong
team coordination, listening and consensus building skills
Fluent
in both spoken and written English
