Job Summary: The
Manufacturing Accountant provides financial information to management by
researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
Manufacturing Accountant provides financial information to management by
researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options
- Tasked with the preparation, timely payments and submission of VAT,
NSSF, PAYE and filing of returns - Summarizes current financial status by collecting information;
preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, income tax
compliances, working capital, term loan management, trial balance closing
and bank reconciliation - Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account
information - Prepares payments by verifying documents, and requesting disbursements
- The Manufacturing Accountant prepares special financial reports by
collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends - In charge of the maintenance of Daily Accounts Expenses, Processing
Reimbursements and payroll in a timely manner. - Maintenance of stock taking valuation and registers for all programs
at the branch and doing physical counts to verify any shortages. - Monthly reporting and all legal compliance.
- Correspondence and communication with bank, customers, consultants
etc. - The Manufacturing Accountant also maintains financial security,
customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial
information confidential - Actively contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results
as needed
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM), Finance and Accounting
or any related field from a recognized institution with a Uganda Advanced
Certificate of Education (UACE) - Three years of financial management experience
- Ability to think and act strategically and pay attention to detail
- Good time-management skills and the ability to prioritize and meet
tight deadlines, particularly at month end - Strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills,
who can interact with other departments and with management - Highly self-driven and able to work pro-actively
- Discreet and trustworthy – respecting the confidentiality of the
role - High degree of computer literacy in Microsoft Office and financial
systems
