Electrification Agency (REA) is the secretariat of the Rural Electrification
Board (REB) established by statutory instrument 2001 No. 75. REA is mandated to
implement Government’s rural electrification programs. The Government of Uganda
through REA is implementing a number of electricity connection projects with
financial support from development partners to meet national electricity access
targets.
The Manager Service Territory Development and Operations (MSTDO) will oversee
the operations of service territories to ensure compliance with regulatory and
legal frameworks in order to meet the Government electricity access and
consumption targets.
- Supervise service territories operations
to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the lease
agreements. - Develop and recommend appropriate sound
management principles aimed at enhancing operational efficiency of the
service providers. - Support the development of service
territory business plans to ensure alignment with government goals and
priorities periodically reviewed and updated. - Develop asset management plan for
electricity networks with a key focus on network reliability and
operational efficiency. - Conduct periodic performance assessment
of electricity service providers and identify business growth
opportunities for support. - Establish, promote and maintain
strategic linkages with key stakeholders. - Develop and implement appropriate
strategies and initiatives to spur growth in electricity consumption and
access. - Manage departmental resources and
activities including but not limited to budgeting, procurement and human
resource. - Perform any other duties as will be
assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering,
Economics, or Management. - A Master’s degree in Management is a
must. - Should be a registered practitioner or
affiliated to a recognised professional body. - At least five years’ experience at
senior level of management. - A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience
working in utility planning, management and regulation. - If an engineer – Membership with
Engineers Registration Board is a must - Proven project management experience.
- A demonstrable background of
professional and strategic leadership - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
