integrated development approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture,
Livestock, Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The Head of Finance will be tasked with
    leadership of finance, accounts team and stakeholder management (Donors,
    Banks, Suppliers, other Staff, Statutory bodies, Programs and others).
  • Oversee accounts & finance
    management in BRAC Country Operation including consolidation, ensure full
    cost recovery on donor budgets (Develop, manage, monitor and oversee the
    budget lifestyle).
  • Develop, set up and manage financial
    reporting systems, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with
    donor and stakeholder requirements, and provide reports to guide the
    decision making process.
  • Advise country Representative on
    accounting concept and treatment.
  • Financial payments, business
    facilitation and ensure a good inventory management process.
  • Manage Audits both external &
    internal.
  • Coordinate with manager-IT BRAC
    International and work closely with Financial Controller, BRAC
    International on group reporting as well as transmission of monthly
    accounts to BRAC International Head Office dealing with payroll related
    issues, cash management, accounts payable and donor reporting.
  • Have overall responsibility for
    recruitment, retention, performance & staff development of the finance
    team.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the BRAC
    International Head of Finance job placement should hold a Masters Degree
    in Accounting and Finance / MBA or its equivalent with Professional Chartered
    accountant certificate in CPA, ACCA and CIMA.
  • Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in
    Project Management/implementation will be of an added advantage.
  • At least seven years of working
    experience including five years of managerial experience in relevant field
    preferably in an international NGO and vast experience of independently
    leading accounts and the finance department.
  • Good working knowledge in accounting
    software such as ERP and others is a must.
  • Experience in complex accounting and
    finance system set up and development, knowledge on IAS/IFRS, Budgeting,
    Auditing, Tax, VAT, Fiscal laws and their application.
  • Exceptional oral and written
    communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and
    persuasively, ability to interpret documents, understand procedures,
    written reports and correspondence.
  • Excellent cross cultural people
    management and strong negotiation skills.
  • Should be honest, dynamic and willing to
    work under pressure.
