– Law Reporting, Research & Law Reform
Centre (LDC) has a mandate to provide legal education to lawyers and
non-lawyers, undertake research in topical legal issues, contribute to legal
reform, produce legal publications, teaching materials, law reports and also
provide community legal services.
The Legal Officer – Law Reform will actively participate in developing
proposals, planning and implementing activities for Law Reform.
- To participate in developing proposals for law reform.
- To carry out research on the proposed law(s) for reform.
- To draft advice and legal opinions to Parliament or any other body
responsible for law reform. - To participate in Research and Law reporting activities.
- To assist in planning and budgeting for departmental activities.
- To perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.
- The applicant for the Legal Officer – Law Reform job must hold a
Bachelor of Law- LLB (Hon) degree from a recognized University. - Possession of a postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Law
Development Centre. - Must be an enrolled advocate.
- A minimum of two years of work experience in law reform or related
area of law. - Strong knowledge of computer applications.
- Possesses strong relationship and management skills.
- Highly creative and innovative.
- He/she should be a person of high integrity.
- Results Oriented.
- Effective communication and interpersonal relations skills.
- Good team player.
