Director
Centre (LDC) has a mandate to provide legal education to lawyers and
non-lawyers, undertake research in topical legal issues, contribute to legal
reform, produce legal publications, teaching materials, law reports and also
provide community legal services.
The Administrative Assistant/Front Desk Assistant will perform a variety of
operational administrative and office management duties to ensure a smooth
running of the office of the Assistant Director. To perform front desk and
administrative duties and offer good customer care services to clients of
Regional Centre.
- To type set documents and ensure safe custody of such documents.
- To handle and record incoming and outgoing mail and ensure that they
are received and dispatched in time. - To make appointments for the Assistant Director and maintain his/her
Diary. - To attend to day to day administrative matters.
- The Administrative Assistant/Front Desk Assistant will oversee the
cleaning of offices and ensure that the offices in the Department are
clean and tidy. - To requisition for and ensure timely provision of office supplies,
equipment, stationery and other logistics. - To attend to day to day administrative matters.
- To make arrangements for meeting venues and other logistics.
- To receive and direct visitors who come to the regional centre.
- To attend to incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
- To attend to students inquiries and address their needs.
- To attend to visitors, and direct them accordingly.
- To maintain a front desk visitors’ register.
- To receive mail and direct it to the relevant offices.
- To perform any other duties assigned by the Assistant Director.
- The applicant for the Administrative Assistant/Front Desk Assistant
job must hold a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education with at least two
(2) Principal Passes - A Diploma in Secretarial Studies
- A minimum of two years of work experience as an administrative
assistant or personal secretary or in front desk work in a busy
organization, preferably an institution of higher learning - Good communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Time management.
- The ability to meet set deadlines.
