Effort to Save Orphans (UWESO) is a national non-government organization which
was founded in 1986 by Ugandan mothers committed to providing relief aid to
needy children left parentless by the civil turbulence of the mid-1980’s and
the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
partner on USAID’s BETTER OUTCOMES for Children and Youth in Eastern and
Northern Uganda, UWESO currently is implementing an Economic Strengthening
component of BETTER OUTCOMES Project to reach out to 60,000 vulnerable households
in 20 districts in Eastern and Northern, the USAID funded Districts through
Livelihoods and other pathways over a five year period (2015-2020) .Village
Savings and Loans Association (VSLA) Methodology, Business Skills Training,
Financial Literacy Education and Bank Linkage are key interventions under the
economic strengthening component.
Farm Manager will mainly ensure maximum yield of the MCV farm in line with
UWESO policies and procedures.
- To ensure strategic administration of the farm by planning,
budgeting, monitoring and documenting all the yields for the
sustainability of the farm. - Support in the development and preparation of currently used land
for farming purposes. - Ensure regular repair and maintenance of farm buildings, machinery
and equipment. - Ensure line management, regular training and capacity building of
the subordinates. - Ensure quality of the farm products.
- The Farm Manager should preferably hold a Diploma in sustainable
agriculture or any other related fields. - A minimum of three years’ working experience in a similar post
working with a reputable farm. - Ability to use computer packages like Microsoft Office.
- Proven success record in crop production and animal husbandry.
- Ability to plan & lead a team of employees.
- Leadership skills, result oriented, concern for standards and should
be development oriented. - Adhere to child protection policies.
- Age: Above 30
years.
