Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining the
    project account in accordance with FCA Financial Policies and procedures
  • Ensure financial compliance, accuracy
    and completeness of data for its inclusion into statement of accounts and
    adjustment of budgets related to the project.
  • Assists the project manager in
    maintaining efficient financial control (of cash flows, local payment,
    etc.), accountability standards, procedures and records;
  • Support and assists the Project Manager
    and the project staff on all aspects of allowances, salary advances,
    travel claims and other financial matters, and calculate and authorize
    payments due for claims and services.
  • Prepares detailed cost estimates, and
    participates in budget analysis of project activities, as required.
  • Manages money transfers and bank
    relations.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial
    reports in line with the monthly reporting timetable
  • Provide timely and appropriate financial
    information to project manager and budget holders.
  • Ensure compliance with government
    regulations in financial and other matters (taxation and approval from
    local authorities); and timely payment of taxes
Administration
  • Ensure that timesheets are completed by
    all staff on a monthly basis.
  • Assist the field offices in
    strengthening systems and operational functions in relation to general
    administration,
  • Ensure FCA Procurement Policies
    compliance.
  • The jobholder will also maintain hard
    and electronic files and update data base systems ensuring timely and
    appropriate recording, safekeeping and disposal of confidential
    information
  • Ensure proper management and maintenance
    of IT and communications (laptops, printers, telephone and other means
    related to Information Technology and Communication).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Finn
    Church Aid (FCA) Finance and Administration Officer job placement should
    preferably hold a University degree or equivalent in accounting, finance,
    Business Administration or other closely related field
  • At least two to four years of experience
    in a similar position.
  • Accountancy and Administration skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing
    budgets
  • Previous experience in managing EU
    funded projects
  • Extensive knowledge of Quick books is an
    asset.
