Referral Hospital has received a grant from EGPAF under the USAID RHITES-SW
project to support implementation of integrated health services, including
quality maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, nutrition, malaria and child
development services at the hospital.

Job Summary:
The Nurse will provide continuous nursing care and public health interventions
to clients and to provide support to medical personnel in effectively carrying
out their duties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in the organization of the clinical set up i.e.
formulates clinical duty roaster, prepares the doctors rooms etc. - Takes vital signs of all patients
- Sorts patients by the very sick and immediately forward them to the
doctors, takes the critically ill to the wards and re-sustains the very
weak - Participates in health Education by supervising the quality of
health Education sessions by expert patients - Carries out on going counselling
- Draws out patients files from records, distributes patients to
doctors rooms and after the day’s work return all the files to records - Files patients’ lab investigations
- Collecting and delivering drugs/sundries from the central stores
- Prepares and parks the prescribed drugs, dispenses septrin, and
other drugs for - Records all patients and drugs dispensed and declares the day’s drug
balances to the senior nurse - Participates in giving clinical weekly reports
- Participates in the distribution of important components of basic
care packages to patients
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Diploma in Nursing and above from a
recognised Nursing Institution or University. - Must be registered with the nurses and midwives council.
- A minimum of two years’ experience working in HIV care, treatment
and prevention will be an added advantage.
