International is a confederation of 16 Catholic relief, development and social
service organisations operating in over 200 countries and territories
worldwide. Collectively and individually their claimed mission is to work to
build a better world, especially for the poor and oppressed. The first Caritas
organisation was established by Lorenz Werthmann on 9 November 1897 in Germany.
Savings and Internal Lending Community (SILC) Supervisor will be responsible
for the startup and ongoing SILC operations in each of their respective
operation areas/Sub-Counties.
- Support the identification, coordination, supervision and training of
Field. Agents - Actively contribute in developing capacity building materials for
business, technical and financial trainings as well as implement capacity
building sessions - Monitor and evaluate the progress of the SILC groups and provide
support to Field Agents as needed. - Actively participate in development of work plans.
- Provide data collected in the field and reports as per reporting
schedule. - Keenly analyze project implementation strategies to identify
constraints to program success and provide timely recommendations.
- The Savings and Internal Lending Community (SILC) Supervisor must
hold a Diploma or Certificate in Business, Finance, Commerce, Economics or
Development Studies with focus on Economic Development or a related field. - Two years of experience in community work or rural development with
a background in VSLA. - Extensive knowledge of SILC methodologies and financial tools as well
as approaches to business-start-ups and income generating activities. - Good organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Excellent communication skills
- Sensitivity and diplomacy in working with socially disadvantaged
communities. - Keen attention to detail, ability to follow procedures and meet
deadlines and work cooperatively with team members. - Good computer skills and good analytical and information management
skills. - Proven skills in riding a motorcycle and possession of a valid riding
license. - Knowledge of local language (Nga‘Karimojong) is a MUST.
