Job Summary: The Senior Human Resource Officer is
primarily focused on providing Technical Human Resource support and expertise to
school Leaders and staff for efficient and effective running of school
programmes across the PEAS network of schools by participating directly,
providing information and guidance for decision making

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate
staff recruitment and selection processes for schools in order to ensure
quality school network staffing - Lead
on all ‘’School Leadership Team’’ recruitments in a timely manner - Provide
and coordinate school staff induction and orientation programmes - Develop
and process for approval job descriptions ensuring clarity and accurate
description of roles. - Identify
training and development opportunities, organize school staff training
sessions - Strengthen
capacity of School Leadership Team in basic human resource principles and
processes - Provide
advice and assistance with school staff performance evaluations for school
senior leadership teams - Support
planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training
school leaders - Support
line managers to address under performance of staff including developing
and implementing performance improvement plans - Provide
advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions in accordance with HR
guidelines and general Practice - Develop
and support implementation of schools’ human resources plans, management
policies and procedures - Lead
on employee compensation, pay and benefits review and advice PEAS
management and schools. - Prepare
school based monthly and annual HR reports
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or
its equivalent. A relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added
advantage - Two
years of experience in a similar role for a large dynamic and fast-growing
organization - Specific
job-related experience in operational human resource management, knowledge
of employment laws in Uganda - Good
understanding of school operations and education sector in Uganda. - Demonstrate
relevant abilities in supervision, team building, problem solving and
counselling - Effectively
communicate basic and complex HR principles to a wide team and build
confidence in approaches being used - Be
agood negotiatorand influencerwith abilityto empower others to excel at
their jobs. - Abilityto
organize own work, andto manage time and resources effectively - Demonstrable
experience of sustaining productive working relations with
multi-stakeholders - Previous
experience of providing distance support to remotely located
offices/persons - Excellent
verbal and writing skills in English
