Job Summary: The Regulatory
Compliance Supervisor will ensure, the Bank in the conduct of its business,
adheres to; the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct, complies
fully with all applicable and relevant laws, regulations, rules, guidelines and
standards that govern the business of financial institutions and in a manner
that shall insulate it (Bank) against the risks of legal, regulatory sanctions,
financial losses and loss to reputation, amidst, meeting the expectations of
all the key business stakeholders
Compliance Supervisor will ensure, the Bank in the conduct of its business,

standards that govern the business of financial institutions and in a manner
that shall insulate it (Bank) against the risks of legal, regulatory sanctions,
financial losses and loss to reputation, amidst, meeting the expectations of
all the key business stakeholders
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing
and maintaining a thorough understanding of the Bank’s applicable and
relevant legal, regulatory and policy frame work and environment. - Based
on the knowledge of the Bank’s business and regulatory environment
/framework, identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and
assessing the severity of potential compliance risks for timely flagging
to line management for timely redress; - Ensure
the Bank’s policies and procedures regime at any particular time, is
adequately embedded to all the key legal, regulatory and other business
controls requirements. - Provide
timely support and guidance to all units, functions and agents of the Bank
towards closure of all compliance lapses as identified and reported by the
Regulator, Auditors (Internal and External) as well as lapses identified
during the routine compliance assessments. - Regularly
and accurately reporting to line management, emerging and material
compliance lapses identified that may pose financial or reputational risks
to the business. - Support
the continuous process of creating, reviewing and sensitization of
Policies and Procedures to all key stakeholders in the Bank. - Provide
training to staff and management on relevant compliance issues,
legislative and regulatory requirements; - Effectively
implementing routine monitoring and sufficient representative testing
(Including spot checks) of the Bank’s actual compliance profile with the
applicable laws, regulations, rules, standards and internal policies and
procedures and make proposals for improvement and correction whenever
required; - Recommend
for updates and effectively support the full operationalization of the
Bank’s compliance and AML programs; - Prepare
compliance review reports where assessments have been carried out; - Assist
in planning for compliance checks and properly document the tests carried
out and conclusions drawn.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business Administration,
Commerce, Statistics,
Economics, and Quantitative Economics or any other relevant/related field. - Completion
of any course in risk management, foundation stages of CPA/ACCA/CFA is
desirable. - Practical
experience of at least more than two year in the field of risk management
or compliance in financial institutions, shall be an added advantage. - Good
interpersonal skills
