Uganda (PSFU) is Uganda’s apex body for the private sector. It is made up of
over 200 business associations, corporate bodies and the major public sector
agencies that support private sector growth. Since its founding in 1995, PSFU
has served as a focal point for private sector advocacy as well as capacity
building and continues to sustain a positive policy dialogue with Government on
behalf of the private sector.
received credit from the World Bank towards implementation of the Uganda
Competitive Fund for employer-led short-term training (Uganda Skills
Development Fund -USDF). The Uganda competitive fund for employer-led
short-term training is part of the Skilling Uganda Project addressing
prevailing skills imbalances and shortages in Uganda. An important element of
the initiative is to facilitate collaboration between training providers and
industry to promote demand driven skills development with special attention to
innovative modes of training. The USD 18 Million matching grant facility – SDF
is managed by the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU). The Project
component has a total budget of 21.8 Million USD including operational costs.
- Ensure
provision of reliable and secure driving services by driving office
vehicles for transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection
of mail, documents and other confidential duties including upcountry
activities under the authorization of the supervisor. - Maintain
on a day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle assigned to you to ensure it is
in good mechanical condition at all times. i.e. timely minor repairs,
arrangements for major repairs, changes of oil, battery, brakes, tyres,
car washing e.t.c - Ensure
availability of all required documents/supplies including vehicle
insurance, vehicle logs, office directory and map of the city/country
including distances, first aid kit, necessary spare parts and that parking
fees are promptly settled. - Ensure
cost saving through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of
daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle
maintenance plans and reports. - Drive
visitors and consultants as assigned - Ensure
maximum security for the vehicle (s) at all times - Ensure
that rules, policies and regulations are adhered to in the event that the
vehicle is involved in an accident. - Take
proper measurement and calculation to reduce potential security threats to
project staff of property within the immediate vicinity of the vehicle and
along transport routes. - Ensure
the vehicle(s) meet the minimum traffic requirements to be fit on the road
and ensure that steps required by rules and regulations pertaining to
driving are adhered to at all times. - Inform
the supervisor immediately about mechanical problems which result from
normal use and accident or theft immediately to both the Project
Administrator and police - Undertake
any other duties incidental to the above as may be assigned by the Project
Coordinator from time to time.
- Well
Maintained Project car in good condition and ensuring regular service - Updated
and filled car logbook. - Ensure
that insurance cover is up to date and parking fees are all settled
promptly. - Time
keeping at all times. - Ensuring
that all journeys taken are authorized by responsible officers.
- The
applicant for the World Bank Project Driver job must be a Ugandan with an O’
level certificate (UCE) - Five
years of driving experience in the Country with a clean record. - Must
possess a valid Driver’s license with both Valid DL and B driving permit
classes. - Possession
of a certificate in motor vehicle maintenance and defensive driving will
be an added advantage. - A
person of high integrity, honesty and versatility - Age: 25- 40 years.
