Director
(UNCC) is a semi-autonomous body established by an Act of Parliament (UNCC Act
Cap 50). It is mandated to preserve, promote and popularize Art and Culture in
Uganda and beyond.
Production Manager will primarily oversee and manage the production function of
the Centre.
- Prepares periodic plans and budget
estimates for the Performing Arts Department. - Overseeing production Calendars and
Schedules - Programs and coordinates the various
performances booked at the Centre. - Directs the productions of the
performances. - Ensures quality assurance of scripts for
the Performances. - Supervises the designing of the stage,
sounds and lighting for every performance at the Centre. - Ensures that the quality of each
performance to be staged at the theatre meets the standards prescribed by
Government. - Directs the promotion and development of
Arts in the Country. - Appraises the activities of staff under his
supervision - Plans and develops capacity of staff
with in the Department - Responsible for documentation and
archiving of Art and Culture aspects - Responsible for all the activities,
utilization and control of resources availed to the Performing arts
function - Hosts and artistically directs festivals
- Tasked with resource mobilization for
the department - Responsible for the development of an
atmosphere for research, innovation and creativity in the art sector
- The applicant must hold an Honors
Bachelor’s Degree in Performing Arts and Film, Theatre Management, Art
Management, Literature, Education with Literature Art or its equivalent. - Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in
any of the above areas. - At least five years’ practical
experience in Art and Theatre Management in a busy and reputable
organization.
