financial institution owned by the government of Uganda and regulated by Bank
of Uganda. The bank has its operations in over 30 branches spread across the
country and 290 ATMs after joining Interswitch.
Job Summary: The Product
Development Manager will develop new products and services that appeal to bank customers
in line with the bank’s product development strategy, vision and mission. The
PDO will also be responsible for carrying out research on new products,
analysis on existing products, feasibility study for new sales points and
implementation of the product marketing plan in line with the bank’s business
goals
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Developing
    new and innovative products both deposit (liability) and asset (loan) side
    that appeal to the bank’s core market niches.
  • Developing
    new and innovative collaborative schemes with Organizations and / or
    companies through which the Bank’s existing or new products and services
    can be cost effectively and efficiently delivered to targeted market /
    customer segments.
  • Refining
    the Bank’s existing products and services in order to ensure that they
    meet the Bank’s desired performance and customer preferences and needs.
  • Conducting
    market surveys on close competitors product offering and compile quarterly
    reports to the Senior Sales Manager and business stream heads, this is
    aimed at bettering the understanding of competition’s strategies and
    benchmarking.
  • Coordinate
    the launching of new products pilot tests ensuring market awareness,
    thereby ensuring eventual rollout and sales.
  • Coordinate
    training / presentations across branch network on new products / key
    product changes, in order to improve awareness and knowledge of the Bank’s
    products to all staff.
  • Manage
    the Banks product/ service pricing strategy by ensuring that Banks pricing
    is competitive on the market.
  • Execution
    of product research plans that will result in the best positioning,
    messaging, pricing and sales efforts of existing products.
  • Coordinate
    with the Management accountant to come up with a product performance
    report for management decision making.
  • Using
    the monthly sales report and information from the customer database,
    continually conduct product appraisals on existing and new products with
    the aim of reviewing performance each product.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • ­The
    applicant must hold a good Bachelors degree in business related subjects
  • ­­At
    least two years of experience in relationship banking or related experience.
  • Requisite
    technical skills gained through practical experience.
  • ­
    Strong general banking experience and expertise.
  • ­
    Good communication and relationship management skills.
